Dance the evening away with a bunch of likeminded powerhouses!
Not everyone loves Mother’s Day, so lets get together!
Some of us have lost their mothers for one reason or another, so lets fill the weekend with other fabulous folks who share the same vibes.
Some of us show up with full hearts, some with holes only a mother could have left behind. Some of us lost mothers to time, distance, circumstance, or complicated family maps. This night is for all of us — the brilliantly resilient, the quietly fierce, the laughing-through-tears, the “let’s dance like no one’s watching” crew. Come reclaim your time, your joy, your unpaid emotional labor, and your dance floor moves.
What to expect
A tongue-in-cheek, irreverent vibe inspired by Monty Python–level absurdity: deadpan one-liners, mock-epic declarations, and silliness that flirts with the dramatic and then walks offstage with a wink.
A high-energy playlist curated to lift, unite, and move bodies: nostalgic bangers, queer-pop anthems, iconic dance-floor staples, and surprise remixes that make you grin and stomp in equal measure.
Artisanal cocktails and mocktails crafted to comfort and delight: clever names, unexpected flavor pairings, and thoughtful nonalcoholic options for folks who want to sip and sashay. Think smoky chai, bright citrus, and a few theatrical garnishes.
Lighthearted games and daft competitions to loosen the shoulders and earn bragging rights: dramatic monologues, silly awards, and maybe a ridiculous contest that would make a medieval knight proud (this is the motherless GOAT party, after all).
A safe, inclusive space for grief-adjacent joy: we honor what’s been lost and celebrate what we still have. Expect kind boundaries, clear consent cues, and staff who know that laughter can be a balm and dancing can be a ritual.
The tone This is tenderhearted irreverence: cheeky, buoyant, and compassionate. We’ll lean into Monty Python–style playfulness — the mock-heroic, the gloriously absurd, the perfectly timed deadpan — while keeping things warm and welcoming. This is not a roast of grief; it’s a celebration of survival, stubbornness, and the community that helps us keep going.

Anyone who has lost a mother or mother-figure and wants to connect with likewise folks in a playful, non-clinical setting.
People who prefer cheeky humor to solemn memorials, who believe that grief and laughter can coexist.
Allies who want to support friends or dance alongside chosen family.
Those craving a night of good music, clever drinks, and unapologetic silliness.
Logistics & atmosphere
Wear your most celebratory, ridiculous, or comfortable dance attire — capes, sequins, sensible shoes, or your favorite cozy cardigan. Costumes are encouraged but not required.
Our space is an intimate, historical venue with a lively dance floor and cozy nooks for conversations. We’ll provide seating for resting, water stations, and quiet corners if you need a break.
Expect playful visual touches: cheeky signage, campy props, and a nod to medieval absurdity (because why not).
Tickets & tiers: Tiered tickets will be announced on 4/15, including a sliding sca-a-a-ale to make the night accessible to as many hearts as possible. We’ll offer full-access dance tickets, low-income and pay-what-you-can options, and limited VIP perks for those who want perks like a specialty cocktail on arrival or a guaranteed seat in the cozy lounge.

Whether you’re bouncing off the walls or easing into a slow sway, you’ll leave a little lighter, louder, and more surrounded.

Your sense of humor.
A willingness to be seen (or to sit back and grin).
