Bring the beauty of nature into your art in this hands-on Floral Collage Workshop with Kathryn Gearon, our inspiring Artist in Residence! Kathryn’s work blends playful textures, vibrant colors, and thoughtful composition, and she loves guiding students to create pieces that are both personal and visually captivating.
What:
In this workshop, you’ll explore layering techniques using paper, paints, vintage ephemera, and natural objects to build your own unique floral collage. Experiment with color, texture, and composition, and leave with a finished piece that celebrates your creativity and connection to the natural world.
How:
No previous experience is needed—Kathryn will guide you step by step, encouraging experimentation, exploration, and fun. This is your chance to slow down, get hands-on, and connect with your artistic side in a relaxed, inspiring environment.

What to bring:
Your curiosity and creativity—almost everything else will be provided.
Feel free to bring along any items you might like to add to a 2 dimensional collage like pressed flowers, postcards, and tissue papers. Some students even use buttons! If you have a favorite cutting tool, bring it along.
Keep in mind:
Please remember that this class will utilized adhesives and paint, so plan your sleeves accordingly. Think 3/4 sleeve, form fitting long sleeves or something you can roll up. We may have T-shirts available for sale.
This class is for ages 15 and up. Please have a parent or guardian as part of your crafting crew.
